To describe 2020 as a hot mess is quite kind. Many have been displaced and reset-trust me, it’s weird around here too! Thankfully Phil has some insight to help us get our feet back under us as well as seeing through the fog and pressing on.
Phil is an amazing guy-his past episode here has been downloaded 4x the average of all other episodes-WOW! Give this one a listen, check out his podcast and look into his new book if you’re interested in Maximizing Your Influence!
I saw the cover and I knew I’d need to read it! Jason Sautel, author of The Rescuer joins me for a chat about Life before and after Jesus, along with his time in the Firehouse and how he came to know the Truth on day.
Firefighting isn’t the easiest of jobs in the US. Things you see and do stick with you for years. Jason was doing his job without a savior, and it caught up with him. In this conversation we peel back the layers to look inside and delve into the story of The Rescuer.
Many Thanks to Jason for stopping by, you can find more here:
Darin Eubanks has a mission; it is to bring the Good News of the Kingdom to this world-today! His podcast, Kingdom Bringer is one to hear if you are interested in getting to know Jesus the way he designed us to. No religiosity, just genuine servitude mated to a hope for growth with a sprinkling of humor makes it a blast to listen to!
You know it’s not often that you just connect with someone! We’re all so varied; but in about 3 minutes into this call you can tell that we’re having our own little Vulcan Mind-Meld! That’s the best part of recording the entire conversation. We never officially started “the call” but the chat that happened was phenomenal!
Jump in and join us! It’s real, raw and in some cases pretty heavy-but we dig in a find what we’re seeking–More of Jesus and His Kingdom!
Todd Weaver was just like the rest of us-swimming in debt, striving for freedom and longing for a different life for his family. One day while channel surfing he stumbled over the Christian television show “Fixing the Money Thing” that originated from a semi-local church. Todd was quite intrigued by the program and the teaching he heard.
It didn’t take too long for Todd’s family to begin attending the new church. Soon enough he found himself digging into the Scriptures finding truth there he’d never been taught before. As the Word says, Seek and you’ll find! He did!
Todd joins me today to share his true life story of Overflowing Success!
A few years back I recorded an excellent interview with Rob Decker of Kingdom Fit Ministries. Sadly, the SD card crashed, life showed up and we never got ’roundtuit…till now.
Rob has an amazing story, one that no amount of show notes can convey-you’ll have to listen to this wild ride he’s call ‘Life’.
Many thanks to Rob for coming back on to re-share his journey.
I was pondering this morning, alone in the rural greasy spoon, enjoying my first cup of coffee since March. I know some of you will wonder why I’ve not had any coffee. It’s an easy answer, it’s just too hot in the South Carolina Summer for me to enjoy a cup. But coffee wasn’t what I was thinking about this morning, nor were the pancakes and deep-fried bacon in front of me. I was thinking about where I was this time last year…and it wasn’t anywhere near where I wanted to be.
Then in an instant, it seemed, I saw it all at once and was reminded just how far we’ve come and (like I needed the reminder) just how good God is!
A song came to mind (that should not surprise many of you), a song that literally carried me though many days and nights a year ago. This time, the song spoke differently to me. You see, “He’s Still Moving” reminded me then that God is indeed moving, healing, helping, carrying, shouldering, providing, uplifting, leading, maintaining, growing, and fostering us through our Detour. Now when I listen, I remember those things and know that He’s still moving in every imaginable and unimaginable way for His Kingdom.
This song, written and performed about physical healing rings true today, if not more than ever. We’re told that everything we’ve known is broken, irreparable, not worth salvaging, and forgotten. We’re told that we should cower in fear and do whatever the man says to ‘stay safe’ in our ‘new normal’.
I refuse to accept that narrative. I’ve seen His glory; His kingdom manifest in my own home-in this physical realm and like many of you, once you’ve witnessed it, there’s no going back. We all need healing, some physical, some mental, some emotionally, some all of the above and more. Our Nation and World needs healing and there is no man, woman or government body that can bring that to us outside of Jesus of Nazareth.
He put in the work, he took the scourging, he conquered it all and by His ‘finishing’ it is all complete. So let me encourage you to get to know the one that is “still moving”. Allow him to come and move and heal those places in your life that need his touch. You, Me, Carla, The United States of America, Planet Earth-Everything can be redeemed through Christ. And it all starts with us receiving what was done on our behalf. Walk in that truth and be free.
It was an idea that never occurred to me, that’s why we need friends! Matthew Angel, a fellow podcaster, had a plan: We’d do one call and interview each other for our respective shows. It was brilliant, I was excited and I was a microphone hog.
Even then, it was a great time, and I believe you’ll enjoy hearing two guys getting to know each other and at the same time encouraging one another.
I really appreciate the opportunity to have shared this time with Matthew and hope you’ll give his show a listen-He’s a great voice of reason and wisdom!
Many of us know Jesus. Most of us can recite a few Bible verses. Yet the numbers say that less than 2% of us actually tell others about Jesus.
Jeff Jerina joins me on this episode of Modern Christian Men to give us some insight on how to make your testimony a part of your everyday vernacular! Jeff’s new book Faith Without Fear breaks down the necessary means of sharing Jesus with those around you.
Join Jeff and I as we discuss having the Faith to overcome the Fear that prevents us from sharing Jesus with the world!
Pastor Josh dropped by the show to talk about his new book It’s Not Over. Through these last 12 months I’ve found that God’s timing is sometimes ridiculously peculiar and Pastor Josh shares how he released his new book just two weeks before the Covid-19 madness began here in the States (so much for a book tour, huh?).
This timely offering is one that was written well before you ever knew you needed to read it! It’s Not Over is a great reminder of how Jesus is there, in the tomorrow’s waiting for us to step into the future, confidently knowing He will never leave nor forsake us.
I hope you’re encouraged and empowered by our conversation.

Justin Dean from Sunday to Sunday joins me to talk communication, in and outside of the church. We delve into the new found (for some) world of church social engagement and it’s importance, especially in this chaotic time.
We also spend some time chatting about communications in the family as well as our circle of friends. Justin has a unique view of the future that I believe you’ll enjoy listening to as we pull back the veil.
